The Show Booth is up and ready for visitors!
2011 Farm Progress in Decatur IL was a bit too balmy this year. While that succeeded in making the fresh-churned ice cream all that much more delicious, it also made the fans and air cooling systems the hot “stand by” spots.
But then it was clear, driving into the show grounds, that central Illinois has suffered from its fair share of heat and dry conditions this growing season.
What a change from the last time we were in Decatur for Farm Progress (2009) when it was brisk and comfortable. That year crops suffered from too much moisture and not enough heat!
But the temperature spike was not the only difference from 2009 Farm Progress.
In 2009 we noticed lots of farmers stopping by to visit with Stoller’s crop experts after observing the robust root systems on our corn and soybean display plants. The biggest questions of the day were:
- “Who is Stoller?”
- “What is Bio-Forge?”

Soybeans draw a crowd
This year we had lots of visitors stopping by. But instead of asking what Bio-Forge is they shared with us how they were using Stoller technology on their farming operations. Some farmers were using the Bio-Forge ST Seed Treatment on their wheat and soybeans. Other farmers had made multiple foliar applications of Bio-Forge…. usually when there were applying glyphosate or fungicide. While few had even begun to harvest… most had seen signs all season of a healthier crop that endured stress conditions well.

Kip Cullers & Steve Albracht
Grower Steve Albracht from Hart TX came by to visit with Midwest Growers. Steve has reached corn yields of over 400 bu/acre on his irrigated land. His approach to farming incorporates using products and methods that can help to get the most out of the land and seed hybrid. Stoller technology has been a part of the approach for the last two years.
Kip Cullers of Stark City MO stopped into chat with growers and the Stoller team. His continued success with Bio-Forge ST and other Stoller products have helped to fuel his enthusiasm for Stoller technology as a new technology that can really boost grower profits.
Max Armstrong and his crew stopped by on Day 2 to film “The Best of Farm Progress.” We were honored to be a part of this production and thankful for a chance to explain how Stoller technology works and what new products are in development. Max also took time to talk to both Kip and Steve…to get the farmer’s true perspective on what they experience….Real Farmers; Real Results.
On display were plants from nearby Sibley, IL and Waterloo IA. Again the pod set, girthy corn ears and root systems were dramatic enough folks stopped in their tracks and wanted to learn more.
It was great visiting with the many growers that took the time to stop by our location in the varied industries tent. We look forward to hearing from many Stoller customers after the harvest is concluded.
Results speak for themselves…and we’ll be happy to share the information from Farmers. Check back …we’ll post results as they come in.
